Christie: Owner / Salon Manager
Christie had been with Victoria and Albert for 16 years before becoming the owner in 2005. In charge of business matters, Christie is experienced with all of the facets that go in to operating a salon. Her high spirit, extensive experience, and savvy business skills have helped V&A become so successful. If you ever have a question or concern, feel free to contact Christie.
Scott : Owner / Senior Designer
Scott, a globally renowned designer and trainer, is full of high energy and has an outgoing personality. He has worked as a platform artist for Redken, Rusk, Sebastian, and Nioxin traveling throughout Europe, Asia, the United States and Canada. Educating his colleagues on cutting, styling, coloring and hair-care products, he is a noteworthy colorist and stylist. Scott will always produce results that will exceed your highest expectations.
Nikki : Junior Designer
Beginning as an assistant with V&A in 2007, Nikki realized how she could express creativity through the hair industry. She graduated from The Fila Academy, a Redken school in January, 2008. As well as pleasing her clients at the salon, she is an active member in the community. Participating in cuts for a cure and other charities is another way her career has a positive effect on people. Nikki is is excited to continue her education so her clients always have the up to date color and styles. Being in touch with her clients and their needs, is very important to her. Each visit with Nikki will be fantastic!
Jeb Johnston : Senior Designer
Style is always first and foremost in Jeb’s mind. A believer in the strength of technical knowledge, he immerses himself in continuing education and always looks for new ways to achieve a beautiful finished result. Jeb has studied various methodologies of hair design from industry stalwarts Redken to the fashion forward techniques of Bumble & Bumble. Through this variety of education Jeb has developed his own personal style that emphasizes classic, beautiful hair and an affinity for the straight-edge razor.
Christy : Designer
Originally a native of Ocean City Maryland, Christy has been a stylist since 2004. She has worked in the salon industry since the age of 16. She has attended advance courses at Toni and Guy in New York and Pivot Point . She also has taken numerous in salon courses with Redken, Alphaparf and Tigi. Christy excels in dimensional haircutting, coloring and men's cutting. Her fun, upbeat personality will make you feel welcome and comfortable in her chair. She is a true lover of her craft and continues to educate herself in the latest styles.
Cori : Junior Designer
Starting with V&A in 2004, Cori worked as a stylist assistant and realized she wanted to train and work in the hair industry after high school. Graduating from Paul Mitchell Partner School in 2007 we welcome Cori. Specializing in the newest modern looks with color and cuts. With a friendly personality and her trendy style you will enjoy your visit.
Christine : Senior Designer
In 1984 Christine started in the hair industry. She worked in DC from 1985-1992. During that time she did work for the CBS Morning Show, specifically Paula Zahn and her guests when on location in DC. 1990-1992 she did honorees for the Kennedy Center Life Time Achievement Awards. Moving to New Mexico in 1992 she established a thriving fun business for herself. Continuing education classes in California and Las Vegas. 2005 Christine returned to Capitol Hill at her previous salon and in the fall of 2006 was hired at Victoria & Albert and became a part of their team. Working part time in Columbia and DC for 10 months, is now full time in Columbia and happy to call it home.
Jennifer : Senior Designer
Originally from Georgia, Jennifer has been with Victoria and Albert for over two years. Previously to joining our team, Jen came to us from the "Redken Salon of the Year" in Atlanta. Trained at a Framesi school, Jennifer has continued her education with both Redken and Tigi. Although well versed in all aspects of hair design, Jen is an expert when it comes to dimensional coloring. In addition to her talent, we know you will enjoy Jennifer's southern charm and sweet dispostion.
Melissa: Senior Designer
Melissa, A senior designer working in South Carolina returned to Maryland in 2005. Starting her career in 1998 Melissa has had the experiences of training from Bumble and Bumble, Redken, Nioxin, Paul Mitchell, and Aveda. Melissa is highly educated in every component of hair design. Having completed advanced technical training with Toni and Guy in Dallas, Melissa's level of experience is remarkable. Specializing in all coloring, cutting, and naturally curly hair, Melissa is a valued addition to the V&A team.
Amy : Senior Designer / Redken Education Director
A truly gifted stylist, Amy loves her craft. Her creativity and skill shines through in all of her work. Amy's cutting edge techniques are attributed to her education at a highly regarded Paul Mitchell Academy. An expert when it comes to modern color techniques, Amy has completed Redken's Master Specialist program as well as recently acquiring the honor of being a Redken Certified Haircolorist. Named Victoria & Albert's Redken Educational Director. Amy is a valued member of the V&A team.
Soon : Senior Designer
With more than four decades of hair design experience, Soon is an expert hair color specialist and is highly sought after for weddings and special events. Throughout her career she has competed in various national and international styling competitions in both New York and Korea. Soon brings to you the most exciting styles and techniques. But most importantly, Soon is committed to your satisfaction--she works collaboratively with clients to make sure they walk out of the salon delighted.
Liz : Senior Designer
A graduate of the Graham Webb Academy for Hair, Liz regularly attends numerous advanced classes at New York’s Bumble & Bumble, Loreal Professional Academy and The Redken Exchange. Her newest passion is for the highlighting technique, Balyage. This French technique of hair painting gives brilliant and natural highlights exactly where you want them with little maintenance. Liz is both a gifted and creative colorist, with a finger on the pulse of the most up to date look. With her understanding of the marriage of a personalized cut and color you can relax knowing you are in Liz’s chair.
Nina : Senior Designer
Trained in England, Nina has been styling hair since 1995. After completing the British City in Guilds Education In Hair, she went on to become an educator for Matrix. Nina has trained extensively with Toni & Guy in London and recently attended the prestigous Bumble & Bumble University in New York, making her proficient in all the latest coloring & cutting techniques. Nina's patience, attention to detail and incomparable skill will leave your hair looking flawless. (Nina is on maternity leave and will return to work in January, 2009)
With impeccable taste and a discerning eye, Melanie will help you achieve the latest style trends. As our salon's educational director for Bumble and Bumble, she is in constant contact with the New York City style scene. Attending multiple training sessions at Bumble and Bumble, Melanie does phenomenal color work including dimensional, corrective and the Balyage technique. Styling since 1996 Melanie's consideration of her clients needs are always first and foremost on her agenda.
Colleen : Senior Designer
Colleen has been a stylist since 1978. Originally from Ohio, Colleen started with Victoria & Albert in 1993. After five years she relocated to New Jersey and was hired at David J. Witchell. Colleen returned to Maryland and came back to V&A in 1999. Furthering her technique, she has attended Bumble and Bumble University, The Redken Exchange, Alfaparf Milano and Kenneth's Design School. Colleen's precision in haircutting led to her work to be featured in Passion Magazine. With her patience and attention to detail, Colleen specializes in all aspects of hair design including hair color, cutting and specialized chemical processes.
Joanna : Senior Designer
Since 1993 Joanna has been an employee of Victoria & Albert. She attends continuing education classes on a regular basis and loves to apply her learned skills to keeping her clients up to date. Joanna also loves working with brides and helping them get ready for their big day!
Karin : Senior Designer
Karin has an upbeat personality that makes her clients feel extra welcome at every visit. With 20 years of experience under her belt, she turns out some of the best colors and styles in the region. Her education includes training with Paul Mitchell, Redken, Alfaparf, and Bumble and Bumble. Attentive and considerate, she will always make every effort to accommodate client requests.
Kim : Senior Designer
Kim has been with Victoria and Albert since apprenticing in 1983 under Victoria, the salon owner at that time. Kim has continued her education throughout her career attending seminars and workshopw with Redken 5th Avenue, Bumble and Bumble, Paul Mitchell and Alfaparf. With Kim's years of experience, she manages all of our junior staff.
Inge : Senior Designer
Started in Graz, Austria, her native country, Inge has seen many techniques and trends come, go and come back again. Spent time in London at the Vidal Sassoon, Trevor Sorbie and Toni and Guy Academies, she received diplomas in advanced precision cutting and hair coloring. Continued over the years to return to Germany, Austria, Italy and Canada for the latest looks and techniques. Back in the States she attended numerous workshops and seminars with Redken in California and New York, Bumble & Bumble, Alfaparf, Paul Mitchell and Graham Webb. Specializing over the years in hair color, she is familiar with every color that is available in Europe and the United States. Her widom and experience speaks for itself!
Wan : Nail Technician
Wan started with Victoria and Albert as a stylist assistant in 1991. Pursuing her career in 2001, Wan went to apprentice at Natural Nails to receive her nail technician license. Wan returned to V&A in 2005 working as our natural nail specialist. An expert when it comes to hand and foot massage, nail shaping, and polishing. Wan will help you get your nails looking great to have long lasting results.
Nancy : Esthetician
Nancy attended The Von Lee School of Aesthetics in 1988. Nancy is certified in beta exfoliating treatments, glycolic peels and all waxing services. Including lash and brow tinting and make up application. Nancy an extensive knowledge of Sothys and Jan Marini skin care lines and attends training seminars. She has an extraoridinary ability to accommodate, nurture and soothe her clients.
